MANCHESTER- Roberta Holland (Gray) Weeks, 86, fell asleep in Jesus on Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at Augusta Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Burnham on March 10, 1921, the daughter of the late Frederick William and Rose Wilma (Holland) Gray. Roberta graduated from Lawrence High School, class of 1939. A homemaker for most of her life, she worked for a short time at the Hathaway Shirt Factory before marrying George A. Weeks in Fairfield on October 24, 1941. She was a member of the Weeks Mills Advent Christian Church, where she held the position of treasurer for many years, and the Advent Christian Camp Meeting Assoc. of Washington, Maine. Roberta enjoyed and loved her family and friends. She enjoyed crafts and cooking and was an avid gardener who had wonderful gardens in her lifetime. She also had a beautiful singing voice and enjoyed music her whole life. Roberta looked forward to the second coming of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Roberta was predeceased by a sister, Mildred Brown. She is survived by her husband of what would have been 66 years this October, George A. Weeks, of Manchester; her three daughters, Sandra Shunskis & her husband, Joseph, of Palermo, Brenda Stinson & her husband, Wayne, of Thomaston, and Rhonda Gorden & her husband, Sherman, of Manchester; four brothers and sisters, Lizzie Hunter of Clinton, Reginald Gray & his wife, Florence, also of Clinton, Virginia Wood of Waterville and Frederick William Gray , Jr. of Perris, CA; six grandchildren, J. Brian Shunskis & his wife, Annette, of North Pole, Alaska, Rebecca Althen & her husband, Dan, of Albion, Stephen Shunskis of Palermo, Tamara King & her husband, Michael, of Thomaston, Timothy Stinson & his wife, Robin, of Alfred and Toby Stinson, also of Alfred; seven great grandchildren, Katherine and Kara Peoples, Autumn Althen, Andrew and Samuel King and Tyler and Emily Stinson; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 2:00 ? 4:00 pm on Sunday, July 15 at Knowlton & Hewins Funeral Home, One Church St., Augusta. A celebration of Roberta?s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday at the Kennebec Valley Assembly of God, 44 Hallowell Road, Chelsea. Interment will be held at a later date in the new Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Mount Vernon Road in Augusta.
