Obituary

OBITUARY Winthrop, ME – Robin Joan Fink, 67 of Winthrop, left us unexpectedly on Thursday, November 24, while peacefully sleeping overlooking the pond she loved. She was born in Freeport, Long Island, NY on May 16, 1955. The third of four daughters of August A. and Ann T. (Nagele) Fink. Her sisters Susan and Holly hope Robin finds their sister Beth in heaven, and they enjoy their coffee and Entenmann's crumb cake together as had been done many times over the years. Robin grew up in Oradell, NJ where she graduated from RiverDell High. She spent many summers on lake Damariscotta at the family camp in Jefferson, Maine where lifelong memories were made. Robin loved to cook and gravitated to the food industry. The highlight of her career was as owner and proprietor of Jarob's Restaurant (which she named creatively after her son Jason and herself) located in an historic Victorian house in East Winthrop. When she closed the restaurant, Robin then enjoyed cooking at other locations including most recently Joyce's in Hallowell and the American Legion in Winthrop. Robin had a big generous heart, loved going to the ocean, gardening and providing for the birds and little 'Chippy' in her beautiful yard overlooking Narrows Pond. This is where she found peace in all seasons and hosted a much-anticipated end of summer party for many years. She was an avid reader and often had two books going, just in case one was not up to par. Robin also had lifelong friends across the country as well as many locally, often making a meal or lending a hand to those who needed a boost. Robin was active at the Alfred W Maxwell American Legion, Post 40, had served as President of the Women's Auxiliary and had many family members who had served honorably in the military. Her greatest love was for her family. She was a Mom to Jason, his wife Kat and Grandma to Mikey who held a special place in her heart. She was a great sister to Susan, Holly and Beth as well as Aunt to many. She always had an eye toward fun as she organized all the family Christmas gatherings. She is survived by her dedicated and loving son, Jason Beaudoin who she was immensely proud of, his wife Kat and beloved grandson Mikey of Topsham, two caring sisters, Susan Higgins of Vassalboro, Holly Stevenson and her husband Doug of Wayne, and fond nieces and nephews Brianna, David, Dan, Rachel, Taylor, Coleman, John and Logan and also many great nieces and nephews. Honoring Robin's wishes, there will be no service; we will gather to celebrate Robin's life which is being organized at The American Legion, Post #40 117 Bowdoin Street, Winthrop on Friday Dec 9th between 4PM and 6PM. In lieu of flowers, Robin's family knows she would appreciate a memorial donation in her name sent to: The American Legion Post #40 Attn: Finance officer PO Box 342, Winthrop, ME 04364 Arrangements are in the care of the Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin St. Winthrop, where condolences and memories may be shared with the family on the obituary page of the funeral home website by visiting www.khrfuneralhomes.com
