WINTHROP - Ronald Charles Teves, 63, of Winthrop, 'Ron' to his friends, passed away peacefully at home after an unsuspected illness on Friday, May 27, 2001. He was born in Brunswick on Nov. 26, 1947, to his late mother Louise Francis Herrick and father Charles Robert Teves. He retired from the Army's 101st Airborne Division in June of 1987 after serving 20 years. He is a Vietnam Veteran. He loved his job as an independent driver for Business As Usual, where he worked for over seven years delivering meds to medical centers. Ron leaves behind his loving wife of 36 years, Kosol Teves; a wonderful daughter, Gloria Teves; two loving granddaughters, Kabrina McMahan and Sarah Moore; a recent addition, a great-granddaughter born May 30, 2011, Madelynn Jane Renee; two sisters, Gloria Stone, of Concord, N.C. and Anita Houde and her husband, Normand, of Brunswick; three brothers; his loving brother who stood by his side before and after sickness, taking care of all who needed him, and helping when we needed it ... thank-you John Huard (Teves) of Albion, David Staples and his wife, Jeannette, of Brunswick, and Raymond Teves and his wife, Geraldine, of Meriden Conn.; and a nephew, Ben T. Huard, and his wife, Amanda, of Fairfield. He was predeceased by one sister, Sandra Hendrix; and two brothers, Roy and James Teves. Ron was a loving dad, a devoted husband, and a wonderful granddad. He loved to work, but more than anything he loved family. He will be deeply missed by many! Committal services with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2011, at the Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, Augusta.
