AUGUSTA- Ronald Trow, 71, passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 19th, 2022.
Ronnie was born on September 28th, 1950 in Augusta, Maine. The son of Howard Trow and Elizabeth (Larrabee) Trow.
He was raised on a family farm and resided there his entire life, learning many skills. In Ronnie's early childhood, he faced life challenges head on and overcame many obstacles throughout his life.
Some of our memories of him are how predictable he was, like having beans and hotdogs every Saturday night, buying Queen Anne chocolates for all the girls for Christmas, and if he was mad at you, he was "onion." He used to think it was funny and would laugh at the boys when they were out in the hay field in 100-degree weather. In his younger years, he enjoyed riding around the farm on his snowmobile and the occasional short trip to friends in the neighborhood. Once a year he would go to the Windsor Fair, usually on the night of Joey Chitwood Show or the demolition derby and enjoyed eating fair food and walking around to see the animals.
Norman sums up Ronnie's life with this quote, "He didn't let his disease put him down, he was strong like a bull, but stubborn like a mule. Could fix a tractor in the hay field with a screwdriver and a pair of pliers. Honest, hardworking, and usually always smiling. Was a shark at the card game, UNO. Enjoyed saving his money and buying things. Usually dressed in blue dickie shirt and blue jeans. With those traits… I always wondered what a different man he would be without dealing with his disease. Luv and miss u Uncle Ron."
Ronnie is pre-deceased by his parents, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is survived by his brother Dan Trow and his wife Cheryl, his three nephews, Mike, Norman and his wife Lora, and Matt and his wife Amanda, all of Augusta. Three great nieces and nephews, Shari Edwards and her husband Kevin of Gardiner, Katy and her husband James of Hampden, Kayla Trow of Windsor, Abbey Trow of Belgrade, Taya and Nolan Trow and Tucker Brown of Augusta and great, great niece and nephew Chloe and Logan Edwards of Gardiner. Several cousins and very special friends, Brenda and Alan Jepson of Stockholm, and his best buddy, his dog Sunshine.
There will be a private graveside service at a later date.
