Obituary

AUGUSTA -- Ruby A. Dalbeck, 97, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, at the Augusta Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Bridgewater on March 28, 1906, the daughter of John and Annie (Tapley) McDonald. Ruby loved to travel, go out for dinner, play bingo and watch television. She especially enjoyed being with her family. She was well known for her baking of biscuits and yeast rolls. She was a member of South Parish Congregational Church, Augusta; Capitol City Grange; and several senior citizen groups. She was predeceased by an infant son, Vernon; her brothers, David McDonald, Earl McDonald and Bert McDonald; and sisters Pauline Devoe, Ethel Devoe, Clytie Dalbeck and Elsie Dalbeck. Survivors include her sons, James Dalbeck and his wife, Doris, of Augusta, John Dalbeck of Vassalboro, Elmer Dalbeck and his wife, Louisette, of Augusta; a daughter, Leona Russell of Augusta; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. There will be no visiting at this time. A memorial service will be held at South Parish Congregational Church in the spring. Burial will be in Kling Cemetery, Augusta. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to South Parish Congregational Church, 9 Church St. Augusta 04330.
