Obituary

BATH - Ruth Pauline Perry, 101, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007, at Winship Green Nursing Center in Bath. She was born in Attleboro, Mass., on Nov. 9, 1906, the daughter of Emerson E. and Etta E. (MacGregor) Perry. Miss Perry taught in elementary schools for 39 years at Moosehead Lake, Skowhegan and Oakland, where she served as principal for five years. She retired in 1964 after teaching 18 years in Winthrop. After retiring, she lived on Bailey Island for a number of years before moving to Brunswick. She was a long-time member of the Winthrop Congregational Church U.C.C., a member of the Mingo Service Club in Bailey Island, A.B.P.W. member in Winthrop and several educational groups. She was predeceased by her parents; a brother, Ralph Perry; a sister, Dorothy Perry, and a niece, Sandi Belden. Survivors include nephew Kerry I. Perry of Mulberry, Fla., and his children Scott, Lisa and Renee and grand-nephew Jason Belden of Durham. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, at Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop, with Rev. Kim Murphy, pastor of the Winthrop Congregational Church U.C.C., officiating. Burial will be in Glenside Cemetery in Winthrop at a later date.
