AUGUSTA- Shirley Alice Giacullo, 76, passed away peacefully at home on December 19th, 2022. Shirley was born on May 30th, 1946, to the late Arthur Sylvester and Louise Smith.
Shirley graduated from Kents Hill High School in 1964. She then went on to the Zion Bible Institute where she received a diploma in practical training in Biblical, Doctrinal, Missionary and Associated subjects, and graduated in 1967. After graduating, she worked as a caregiver to those who received home health care.
Shirley met her loving husband, John Irvin Giacullo in 1966 and married in 1967. They created a wonderful life and shared 55 ½ years together. She supported her husband in the ministry pastoring several churches in Maine. They would spend time gardening and growing flowers at their home in Readfield. She loved playing the piano and teaching Sunday school.
She is survived by her husband, daughter Deborah Giacullo Langille of Hermon, Maine, son David Giacullo of Germany, granddaughter Ashley Slack and husband Tyrelle of Rochester, New York, grandson Nicholas Langille of Hermon, Maine, sisters Arlene Charles of Fryeburg, Maine, Dottie Withee of Enfield, Connecticut, Carolyn Mott of Augusta, Maine, and Evelyn Kittredge of Ocala, Florida, brother Robert Sylvester of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, along with many nieces and nephews. Shirley is predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Louise Sylvester, and several aunts and uncles.
Services for Shirley will be held at a later date.
