AUGUSTA- Valerie Jean Corbett passed away peacefully at her home on August 7, 2025.

She was born September 19, 1968, to Walter “Mike” Matson and Nancy Reed Murch. She grew up in Cushing, where she attended local schools.

Other than her parents, she is predeceased by her sisters Wanda Ames and Sharon Matson.

She is survived by her two sons; James Corbett and his wife Jennifer, of Cushing and Joshua Corbett and his wife Cherilyn, of Cushing. Grandchildren; Nataleigh, James, Layla, and Lindelle. Her sisters; Elaine Stone, Susan Waterbury, Sheila Matson, Violet Stanley (her twin sister), Francesca Makinen; long time companion, Dwayne Ames, of Augusta; as well as several nieces and nephews.

To honor Valarie’s wishes, a private family memorial will be held at a later date.
