KILLINGLY, CONNECTICUT- It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Veronica "Roni" L. Lewandowski. Roni passed away on September 10, 2023, with her loving family by her side at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta, Maine. She was admitted through the Emergency Department for complications from a serious illness while visiting her sister in Maine.
Roni was born on September 19, 1969, in Manchester, CT to Leslie and Carol (Muller) Lewandowski, currently of Wayne, ME. She graduated from RHAM High School (Hebron, CT) class of 1987. She received her bachelor's degree in physical therapy from the University of Connecticut in 1991, and has since served as a Physical Therapist, dedicated to the health and wellness of her patients.
In her free time, she deeply enjoyed time spent with family (camping in Maine; long walks in the woods with her children and dogs - a huge part of her family; kayaking; cheering for her children in sports, horseback riding, and robotics; playing cards, board games and cell phone games). Roni was also famous for eating strange food combinations, fondly remembered as the "Condiment Queen".
In addition to her parents, Roni is survived by her loving partner of 28 years, Brenda Rattray, their children Ryan and Christina Rattray; brothers Peter and wife Neda living in Brazil; Michael of Columbia, TN; and sister Denise and husband Michael Parlin of Manchester, ME.
Roni is predeceased by grandparents Zenon and Anne Lewandowski, and Alfred and Mary Muller.
A memorial Mass to honor Roni's life will be celebrated on Thursday, September 21 at 11:30 AM at St. Francis Xavier Church in Winthrop, ME.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
