WAYNE - Violet L. Burnham, 85, of Green True Road died peacefully at her home in Wayne on Thursday Dec. 29, 2005. Vi was born at home in Freedom on March 11, 1920. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Vi lived for her children and grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. She enjoyed fishing, playing cards, gardening and watching and feeding the birds. She will be remembered sitting at her kitchen table looking out at the life outside, the birds coming and going, but mostly looking forward to her family coming to visit. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Lawrence Burnham; and her eldest son, Andy Weymouth. She is survived by three sons, Bruce Weymouth of Wayne, Larry Burnham and his wife, Wendie, of Fayette and Harry Weymouth of Arkansas; four daughters, Trudy Williams of Winthrop, Ellen Thomas and her husband, Claude, of Lavaca, Ark., Sandy Harkins of Winthrop and Mary Riggs and her husband, Dennis, of North Monmouth.; 20 grandchildren, Andy Jr., Jon, Matt, Chablee, Bobby, Jenny, Katie, Ralph, Penny, Norman, Dwight, Dwayne, Douglas, Dave, TJ, Josh, Amanda, Georgia, Toni and Laura; and 16 great-grandchildren. Her favorite scriptures were John 3:16 and especially Psalm 23. She will be dearly missed by all of us. There will be no visiting or service at this time. A private graveside service will be held in the spring at Evergreen Cemetery, Wayne. Arrangements are in the care of Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop ME 04364.
