Obituary

AUGUSTA - Vivian May Quirion, 72, of Augusta died peacefully at her home Sunday, May 14, 2006. She was born in Augusta Feb. 20, 1934, the daughter of Clarence and Bertha York. She attended Augusta schools and spent most of her life in and around Augusta. Vivian married Romeo Quirion in January of 1955 and together they ran a taxi stand for many years. She and Romeo also worked on many wooden projects together, including toys and dollhouses. Mrs. Quirion enjoyed gardening, keeping a nice home and collecting and repairing old dolls. Vivian was predeceased by her husband, Romeo; her son, Bruce Quirion; two sisters, Beatrice Davis and Louise Skidgel; and her brother, Clarence York. She is survived by a son, Timothy Quirion of Whitefield; two daughters, Brenda Bartlett of Windham and Janice Quirion of Waterville; three brothers, Arthur York, Richard York and Raymond York; three sisters, Alice Foren, Evelyn White and Violet Sebrell; along with nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. There will be a graveside service at noon Friday at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Civic Center Drive. Arrangements are in the care of Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St., Augusta.
