Obituary

WOOLWICH- Walter "Frank" James, 77, passed at Togus Medical Center on Friday, January 10, 2025. Frank was born in Windsor, Missouri on September 19, 1947, to the late Luther William James and Minnie Alice Pearl Ross James. He attended Morse High School and graduated in 1976. He served in the United States Navy for four years and in the Maine National Guard for 13 years. He worked faithfully at Bath Iron Works for 37 years as both welder and safety inspector. In his free time, Frank enjoyed time spent with family–baseball with his sons, bowling with his daughters, and line dancing with his wife. He was an avid reader and loved history. He enjoyed a good laugh and could be counted on as the comic relief when friends and family gathered. Faith was an integral part of Frank's life since childhood, influencing every aspect of his life, and providing direction and peace that both he and his family have benefitted from. Frank is survived by his loving wife, Linda C. James, his children and their families–Robert James, Anthony James, Susan Jones, Bethany Scarson. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers Robert, Leon, Eddie, and Dale. Franks memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 16 at 2PM at the North Woolwich Church, 941 River Road in Woolwich. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Arrangements and guidance are in the care of Knowlton & Hewins Funeral Home & Cremation Care, One Church Street, Augusta, Maine.
