Obituary

AUGUSTA ? Waneta (Glidden) Lunn, 82, died Sunday, July 13, 2003, at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care, Graybirch, in Augusta. She was born in Somerville on Oct. 3, 1920, the daughter of Norman and Lillian (Glidden) Irving. Upon the passing of her mother, Lilly, passing shortly after giving birth to her and her twin brother, Wallace, Waneta and her brother were adopted by their grandparents, Warren and Myrtilla Glidden of Somerville. Waneta graduated from Erskine Academy in South China in the class of 1940. In 1955, she married Baldwin H. Lunn in Jefferson. Shortly after graduation, she went to work for the Togus veterans hospital, retiring as a food service supervisor in 1975 after 30 years of service. She was a member of AARP, NARFF, Erskine Academy Alumni Association and the Federal Credit Union. Waneta was predeceased by her husband, Baldwin, in 1985; her daughter, Margaret Lunn of Sabattus, in 1998; and also her twin brother, Wallace, in 1975. She is survived by her dear friend, Nancy Roberge of Sabattus; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends. A graveside committal service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 18, in the Father LeClair Memorial Chapel at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, Augusta. Arrangements are in the care of Knowlton & Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St., Augusta.
