MOUNT VERNON ~ Zillah Pearl Veinotte Millett, 95, of Mount Vernon, went to her heavenly home to be with her beloved husband, Aubrey, who preceded her in death in 1993. She was born in Minot, Maine on January 1, 1921, the daughter of Elva (Patch) and Leland Ward. Zillah was an employee of Carlton Woolen Mills in Winthrop for many years. She enjoyed a variety of activities surrounding her church. For many years, she was a member of the Readfield Pentecostal Church and the Oakland Pentecostal Church, where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, and most recently Fayette Baptist Church. Zillah was known by everyone who knew her as a sweet, giving person who was always one to have a good word to say. She had a very sweet disposition and always had a smile for everyone. She and her daughter spent many happy times on trips over the last few years and Zillah especially looked forward to her annual Cabbage Island clam bake trips during the summer months. She will be greatly missed by many friends and family, but most of all, her daughter, Virginia Lewis, with whom she lived the last several years of her life. She is also survived by one son, Andrew Veinotte and his wife, Barbara, of Florida; her four grandchildren, Mark Veinotte (Ann) of Pittsfield, MA, Wanda Veinotte of MA, Cindy Rogers (Robert) of Manassas, VA and Jeffrey Lewis (Trudy) of Morrisville, VT; and three great grandchildren, Adam Chiz, Gavin Aubrey and Carter Peter Lewis. A celebration of Zillah’s life will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, at Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop. Burial will follow in Readfield Corner Cemetery, Church Road, Readfield.
